What languages are used for consultations?

When is nose surgery needed?
With breathing difficulties, deviated septum, chronic sinusitis not responding to treatment, nasal polyps, after injuries, and for aesthetic and functional nose defects.
What is the difference between rhinoplasty and septoplasty?
Rhinoplasty changes the shape and size of the external nose. Septoplasty corrects a deviated septum and improves breathing. Both procedures are often performed together.
Can I improve both breathing and nose shape in one surgery?
Yes. Functional rhinoseptoplasty simultaneously restores breathing and corrects the nose's appearance.
Does surgery hurt?
Surgery is performed under general anesthesia, so you feel nothing. Some mild discomfort is possible afterward, which is well controlled with painkillers.
How long does surgery take?
Septoplasty — 40–90 minutes; rhinoplasty — 1.5–3 hours; complex reconstructive surgery — up to 4–5 hours.
How long is recovery?
Swelling and bruising decrease within 1–2 weeks. Most patients return to work within 7–14 days. Light physical activity after 3–4 weeks. Final result forms over 6–12 months.
Do I need to have tampons removed?
Many modern techniques use silicone splints or atraumatic gel tampons that resorb on their own.
When can I exercise?
Walking — almost immediately. Light workouts — after 2 weeks. Contact sports — no earlier than 2–3 months.
When can I wear glasses?
Usually after 4–6 weeks, depending on surgery scope and surgeon's recommendations.
Will there be scars?
With closed rhinoplasty, there are no external scars. Open rhinoplasty leaves a small scar on the columella, which becomes nearly invisible over time.
How do I prepare for surgery?
Have necessary tests, avoid blood-thinning medications (with doctor approval), don't eat 6–8 hours before surgery.
What are the risks?
As with any surgery: bleeding, infection, prolonged swelling, adhesion formation, need for revision in a small percentage of cases.
When will I see the final result?
Main changes are visible within a month, but final nose shape forms over 6–12 months.
Can an unsuccessful rhinoplasty be corrected?
Yes. Revision rhinoplasty can restore function and aesthetics, but is a more complex procedure requiring careful planning.
What can't I do after surgery?
First weeks: no blowing nose, saunas, heavy lifting, sleeping face-down, wearing heavy glasses, sunbathing, or alcohol in early recovery.
Can I breathe right after surgery?
Yes, though swelling may make breathing difficult the first few days.
Is removing tampons very painful?
Modern silicone splints are removed quickly and usually cause only minor discomfort.
When can I return to work?
Average return to work is 7–10 days.
Will my voice change after surgery?
No, surgery doesn't change your voice, though temporary nasality is possible due to swelling.
Can I have rhinoplasty in summer?
Yes, following sun protection and avoiding overheating. Season is not a contraindication if recommendations are followed.
